Currently, we are in search of an experienced Financial Controller to join our client's team in London, Ontario. In this role, the Controller will operate within a dynamic and well-established environment, offering ample prospects for professional advancement and knowledge enhancement.

Requirments

University degree in business/accounting, complemented by a CPA designation.

5 or more years of relevant experience in either public accounting or relevant industry roles.

Demonstrate prior experience in consolidation and financial reporting, particularly within the manufacturing sector.

Exhibit a solid foundation in cost accounting and proficiency in conducting variance analysis.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and understanding of IT systems.

Familiarity with Syspro is advantageous and considered an asset.

Strong analytical skills and effective problem-solving skills, and a keen attention to detail.

 


Responsibility

Oversee all month-end procedures, encompassing tasks such as monthly bank reconciliations, journal entries, and reconciliations for multiple companies.

Review and adjust inter-company balances and transactions on a monthly basis.

Prepare and submit monthly HST and WSIB returns in a timely manner.

Collaborate with external auditors, furnishing them with necessary information and schedules as required.

Provide support for Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and payroll functions, addressing various issues that arise.

Aid the Director of Finance (DOF) in preparing both monthly and annual financial statements, including the creation of related working papers.

Conduct thorough investigations into accounting variances, offering comprehensive reports on findings, and devising and implementing enhanced control measures for process improvement.

Take charge of maintaining standard cost inputs for accurate financial assessments.

Compile, analyze, and distribute concise summaries of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for informed decision-making.

Develop valuable resources for the accounting department, aiming to enhance internal controls, staff efficiency, and the uniformity of processes and procedures.
